Hello! I’m Byron from Powerhouse Videos based on Dartmoor in Devon. We’re an award-winning videography studio making wedding and corporate films across the UK and Europe. My interest in film and photography started several years ago when I was serving with the Royal Marines. After leaving the services I was involved with many different film projects here and abroad before founding Powerhouse Videos in 2016. My wife, who’s a BBC presenter, thought the name suited my work ethos because I’m driven and passionate about creating films that will be watched and cherished for generations to come. I’m organised, approachable and I love working collaboratively with couples to create the perfect film of their special day. Happy clients who are delighted with my work are my top priority but getting industry recognition for my films has been an honour this year after winning the International Wedding Award Country Round, alongside videographers from France, USA, Canada and Italy.

My Approach
Most couples are keen to have a lasting memory on film of one of the biggest days of their lives together, but I appreciate not everyone’s comfortable being filmed. Before your wedding day I’ll always try to meet to talk through the filming process and find what works best for you so that you can relax and forget I’m even there when the big day arrives. I want your experience of working with me to be friendly, fun and stress-free, so you’ll have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you like and explain what you’d love to be incorporated into your film. I’ve kept in touch with many couples over the years and it’s such a fantastic feeling to know that I was able to tell such an important part of their story together on film.

Why film?
We’ve come a long way since the days of blurred footage shot by a family friend using a borrowed video-cam. I multi-shoot, using a range of some of the industry’s best professional cameras along with state-of-the-art audio equipment to capture your wedding day in the very best quality. A still photo will highlight a single moment in time. But a wedding film catches all the moments leading up to that special glance and smile and the words that prompt those happy tears. You’ll be able to see so many moments that you may have missed throughout the day and the reactions of your family and friends…a treasured film to share and to keep forever.
