Isabelle and Peter’s late‑June wedding at Mount Edgcumbe House felt like a secret the coast had been keeping just for them. The morning began with a soft fog drifting over Plymouth Sound — atmospheric, cinematic and somehow perfectly romantic. The bridal party woke to the history and charm of Royal William Yard before stepping onto a private ferry to the Edgcumbe estate, bubbles of nervous laughter and excitement on the crossing.

Peter waited in the Great Hall in morning dress, composed and smiling, with his best man Patrick by his side. Little Wilfred and Cleo led the way — the most adorable page boy and girl — followed by bridesmaids and groomsmen: Tom, Jonny, Claudia and Julia. Then, on her father Dave’s arm, Isabelle appeared in a stunning white gown; an instant hush, then a tide of happy tears.

By late afternoon the fog finally lifted and the sun arrived as if on cue. The newlyweds and guests strolled to the Orangery, led by the wonderfully lively Roaming Folks Band, and the estate seemed to exhale in celebration. Speeches after the wedding breakfast were warm, witty and occasionally tearful — the kind that leave cheeks damp and hearts full — before the evening ignited with dancing to CASA.

A day shaped by intimacy, laughter and tiny perfect moments: a ferry crossing, a proud father’s drive, a Great Hall ceremony, a procession on foot to the Orangery, and a dancefloor that didn’t want to quit.
